Author Visit,
Bharathi Vidhyaa Kendhra
I had the wonderful opportunity to visit the students of Bharathi Vidhyaa Kendra not just once, but twice, and both visits were special in their own way.
The first was on World Conservation Day, where I shared one of my personal favorite stories, A Christmas Story, which is very close to my heart. It is one of eight stories in my book, The Postwoman and Other Stories, introduced by renowned conservationist, Ms. Zai Whitaker.
After the storytelling, we had a truly engaging discussion about the increasing frequency of landslides in our mountains. The students were incredibly curious and insightful, reflecting on why these disasters were happening so often and the impact they could have.
My second visit was during orientation week, when I had the chance to interact with students across different age groups and lead multiple storytelling sessions. But what stood out most was connecting with my fellow teachers. Many were eager to know how I balance my life as both an author and a teacher, a question I get often and one that always sparks enriching conversations.
If there is one thing that truly stayed with me from my time at Bharathi Vidhyaa Kendra, it is the passion these students have for learning. Their enthusiasm, curiosity, and deep interest in the world around them left a lasting impression on me, and I can’t wait to see where their journeys take them!
