Outdoor Odyssey
Storytelling with Outdoor Odyssey was a completely different experience—one that felt more alive and connected to nature. Instead of being in a classroom or library, I was at the Masjigadda jungle camp, surrounded by trees, birds, and the sounds of the forest.
As I waited for the kids to return from their foraging and exploring, I took a short walk through the jungle. The rustling leaves, the chirping birds, and the cool shade of the trees set the perfect mood for storytelling. It felt like stepping into my own story before I even began telling it.
When the children gathered around, their eyes filled with excitement, I could see how much the setting helped them connect to the story. As I described a lush green mountain filled with animals, they could picture it easily because we were right there in nature. The sounds of birds, the soft breeze, and even the scuttling of small creatures made everything feel real.
Sharing my story outdoors, with nature as my backdrop, was a magical experience. It made me realize how powerful storytelling can be when done in the right place. I truly look forward to more sessions like this, where stories and nature come together so beautifully.
