Shri Ram Academy Lit Fest
It was such a joy to be part of Shri Ram Academy, not just as an author and speaker, but also as a participant in their literary festival.
I got to share Thulir's Stroll with the students and give them a glimpse of India's mountains and the fascinating plants and animals of the Western Ghats. The children were full of energy, curiosity, and questions. Everyone had something to say, and the conversation flowed naturally from one idea to another.
What I loved most was seeing them make connections of their own. When they learned that the Nilgiri tahr is the state animal of Tamil Nadu, they immediately started wondering about the state animal of Telangana. Before long, they were discussing their own state, its wildlife, and what makes it special.
I left feeling happy that I had not only shared stories from the mountains, but also encouraged the students to look more closely at the natural world around them and discover their own connections to it.
